Tbilisi tour: wine and mountains, 6 days in Georgia
A six-day, five-night Tbilisi tour: the capital, a night among the vineyards of Kakheti and a night at the foot of Mount Kazbek. With a guide in your language and real encounters with Georgians.
The Tbilisi tour lasts six days and five nights: three in Tbilisi, one in Sighnaghi, in the heart of Kakheti, and one in Stepantsminda, facing Mount Kazbek. A professional guide in English, Italian, French, German or Russian, all meals included and encounters with Georgians: a chef, a winery, a mountain family.
A compact trip that starts in Tbilisi, with a night among the vineyards of Kakheti and one at the foot of Mount Kazbek.
You explore the old capital on foot, then sleep in the walled town of Sighnaghi after a traditional supra, with no need to drive back after the wine. Next comes the legendary Georgian Military Road to Stepantsminda, where you wake up facing the glaciers of Kazbek (5,047 m).
Six moments to remember
Not just places to visit: tables, wineries and families that welcome you.
Cooking lunch with a chef
Make khachapuri, the cheese bread, and Georgian walnut and vegetable dishes together. In the afternoon, a gallery of cloisonné enamel.
Winery and qvevri tasting
A visit to a traditional marani to see how wine is made in clay jars, tasting amber and red wines: Rkatsiteli, Kisi, Saperavi.
Supra with polyphonic singing
Natural wine and a traditional lunch at Pheasant’s Tears, led by a tamada who teaches you to toast in Georgian, with the Zedashe ensemble and a taste of chacha.
Sunset over Kazbek
From the hotel terrace, Mount Kazbek (5,047 m) and Gergeti church at sunset, one of the most photographed views in Georgia.
Lunch with a mountain family
A khinkali lesson and a home-cooked lunch with mountain cheeses and herbs, after sunrise at Gergeti church.
Mtskheta, a UNESCO site
On the way back, Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, in Georgia’s ancient capital.
A journey with Italian traces
Along the way you meet stories that link Georgia and Italy:
The Bridge of Peace in Tbilisi, designed by Italian architect Michele De Lucchi.
Cristoforo De Castelli, a 17th-century Italian missionary who drew the people and festivals of Georgia.
Chacha, Georgia’s grape brandy, a close cousin of Italian grappa.
Qvevri wines, which inspired Italian winemakers such as Josko Gravner.
